The installation of tiggit mail is designed to be easy, and not require any specific technical skills. The quickest and easiest way to install tiggitMail is over-the-air. Simply point your BlackBerry WML browser to this page (www.tiggit.com/tiggitmail) and click on the OTA Download link at the top of the page. Over-the-air installation can only be acheived if you have a BlackBerry data package with your service provider.

Alternatively you can plug your BlackBerry into your PC and install the software from your PC. Use the web-installer by connecting your BlackBerry to your PC with a USB cable, then navigating to the installation link included in your welcome email, and selecting install via your desktop computer.

The webinstaller will ask you for your BlackBerry handheld password, and then use it to connect to the handheld, and install the software. You will be asked to confirm that you want to install multiMail. This is the engineering name for tiggit mail, so you should click on 'Yes'.

When installing tiggit mail it may be necessary to restart the BlackBerry handheld, which will happen automatically if it is required.

Installation Problems

Error 405: You may not be allowed to install third party programs over-the-air. The BlackBerry will say http error 405, which means that your IT department do not allow over-the-air install. To install tiggit mail you should connect your BlackBerry to your desktop computer with a USB cable and choose install via your desktop computer .

To do this, you should click on your personal download link on your desktop computer, and then click again on your desktop computer on the install via desktop link. This will cause the desktop to connect to the BlackBerry handheld and install the software.

Error 907: The over-the-air installer must be installed with a WML Browser. BlackBerry devices typically have two browsers, one has a little document on the icon, or might be used for accessing services such as Vodafone Live! You must use this browser to install tiggitMail. If you continue to have this problem, then use a USB cable and the desktop installer.

Webloader: The webloader uses an activex control that is provided by Research In Motion, the manufacturers of BlackBerry handhelds. You may need to allow your browser to run this control in order to use the web installer. When you navigate to the web-installer page, a yellow bar may appear just below the top of the browser asking you to permit blocked content. You should permit the use of the blocked content to allow the web-installer to work.
