tiggit mail can be customised in a number of ways to make it faster and easier to use. Different people have different needs so there are a range of ways to customise the operation of tiggit mail.

tiggit mail can be set to check for new email messages every few minutes. This wil consume battery power each time tiggit mail connects to the mail server, but it adds the convenience of knowing that all your messages will be automatically downloaded, and that you will be alerted when new messages arrive.

Faster Navigation

Speed of navigation is important - being able to rapidly review new messages and file messages in the correct folder is important, event from a handheld.

Some users prefer to go directly to a particular folder in a particular mail box when they open tiggit mail. This can be configured by selecting default folders. Other users prefer to open a mailbox, and then review their messages using the folder screen as a way of navigating.

Other users have a small number of folders that they need a fast way of accessing. The folder favourites list provides fast access to a small number of regularly used folders.

Having a custom signature for each account saves time, preventing the need to add your name, and perhaps other personal details to the bottom of each email. A well designed custom signature also adds a professional feel to messages sent from your handheld.

tiggit mail allows you to define a signature for each account, and this signature is automatically added to each message as it is sent.

It is important to know when you receive new messages on your handheld. tiggit provides a range of different notification mechanisms.

  • vibrate
  • flash led red/green
  • change application icon
  • new message counter displayed on the homescreen

These alerting mechanisms can be turned on in combination, and can be set to alert for every new message, or when more than one new message is found. Alerts can also be configured to alert for every new message downloaded to the handheld, or just messages that have not otherwise been read - on a desktop for example.

Special Folders

It is often handy to have all outgoing messages copied to a Sent folder to keep track of messages you have sent. You may also like to be added as a bcc addressee on all outgoing messages to be sure that messages have been sent. tiggit mail allows you to nominate a server folder to receive a copy of every outgoing message. This can be any folder on the server. You can also nominate an email address to be automatically added to each outgoing message.

Some users like to have deleted messages copied to a trash folder rather than immediately deleted from the server - just in case. You can nominate any folder to be your trash folder - messages are moved to this folder rather than being deleted from the server.
